National start-up award for IOAC

-

STAFF and management of the IOAC (International Outdoor Adventure Centre and Camping Grounds) in Tagoat were in celebratory mood last week as they brought home a major national award.

The centre saw off some stiff competition from right across the country to bring home the National Startup Award 2019 in the Travel and Tourism category. The award was collected by owners Adrian and Carmel Tennant at a lavish awards ceremony in Dublin’s City Hall and the centre will now go on to represent Ireland at the European Startup Awards.

‘We are delighted and humbled,’ said Carmel. ‘A lot of hard work has gone into the IOAC and it is great that we are not only recognised in our own county, where we have received wonderful support, but also recognised nationally as an important piece of the tourism infrastructure here in Ireland.’

Adrian paid tribute to the team that they’ve assembled at the IOAC and stated that they have big plans for the future.

‘We are lucky to have such a great team of staff and this award belongs to all the team who make the visitor experience at the IOAC such a great one,’ he said.

‘As our season has now drawn to an end, we have improvements planned for when we reopen in March 2020. We are always developing and improving and to be recognised as a leader in the industry at a national level at this early stage in our development is such an affirmation that what we are on the right path with all that we are trying to achieve.’
