Strong second-half downs North End

SEAVIEW MOVED to the top of the Premier Division after a strong second-half performance saw them overcome North End United 4-0.

After a scoreless first-half, North End were unlucky not to go in front when they had a Lydia McGrath shot come back off the post, but two goals each from Kaeisha Tobin and Lisa Dower saw Seaview emerge as 4-0 winners.

In the other Premier game, Ferns and Forth played out a very competitive and hard-fought scoreless draw which keeps both teams in touch with the leaders.

Only three points divide all the teams in a very competitive Division 1, with Adamstown, Corach

Ramblers and St. Joseph’s all recording wins over Bree, Kilmore and Camolin respectively.

Adamstown led 3-0 away to Bree with goals from Chantelle Martin, Jasmine Martin and Leanne Delaney.

However, goals from Ciara McKelvie and Amy Long saw Bree come back into the game, with Adamstown having to work hard to hold on for the points.

Georgina Creane scored for Camolin, but goals from Amy Mitten and Aine Roche gave St. Joseph’s their first win of the season.

Corach are determined to challenge for the honours in this division this season, and they made it two wins from two when overcoming Kilmore 6-2.

Two goals each from Aisling Waters and Grace Donovan, and a goal each from Amy Eustace and Sophie Scallan, saw Ramblers take all three points.

In Division 2, New Ross Town made it two wins from two games as they beat Fastnet Rovers 3-1 with goals from Kellie O’Neill, Marcella Cullen and Lina Smitate-McGrath.

Trish Mulally scored for Bunclody in St. Cormac’s, but it was not enough as two goals from Anais Curran and one from Lorraine O’Connor gave the home side their first win of the season.

A Denise Leniston hat-trick gave Wexford Bohs a 3-0 home win over Ajax in Division 3, while All Blacks and Cushinstown played out a 2-2 draw.

Natasha Martin and Melissa Crowley were on target for All Blacks, while Eimear Whelan and Julie Foley scored for Cushinstown.

Shelburne are currently well clear at the top of the division and had no trouble overcoming Enniscorthy United, with Gina Foley (six), Katie Murphy (five), Niamh Kehoe (two), Jackie Carr, Carol Cowman, Kate O’Keeffe, Aisling Breen and Caoimhe Cowman all finding the net.
