TABLE QUIZ A HUGE SUCCESS

The Ben Mulhall Park Committee would like to express their gratitude to all who supported the ‘Bingo Night’, held in Osborne’s Lounge, Clonegal on Friday, November 15. The total amount raised was €720. The money raised will go towards purchasing tables for the upstairs sports complex. Thank you to the winners for donating back their prize money.

Thank you to our sponsors for prize money and raffle prizes: Jean, John, Paul and Sarah Kelly, Patsy and Bridge Kirwan and Dorcas Rothwell. ST FIAAC’S CLONEGAL PARISH SALE.

Clonegal Parish Sale takes place this Friday, November 29, at 7 p.m. in St Brigit’s Community Hall, Clonegal. There will be the usual stalls, raffle and tea.

SENIOR CITIZENS CHRISTMAS PARTY.

The senior citizens Christmas party takes place in Ballykeale­y Manor Hotel, Ballon on Sunday, December 1, at 3 p.m. Any parishione­r who has reached their 66th birthday is eligible to attend. Please let Fr Fleming or any member of the committee know, as they may not be aware of your eligibilit­y.

FUNDRAISIN­G FOR HAROLD’S CROSS HOSPICE.

Residents of Glassheen Kildavin housing estate are currently setting up a fantastic Christmas lights extravagan­za as a fundraisin­g effort for ‘The Hospice Harold’s Cross’. A donation box will be set up shortly at the entrance to the estate. Your support greatly appreciate­d.

CLONEGAL NATIONAL SCHOOL

CHRISTMAS PLAY – There is great excitement building in the classrooms for this year’s Christmas plays, which will take place on Wednesday, December 18, in St Brigid’s Hall. Each class has an allotted time. Parents and extended family members are welcome to attend. There is no charge for attendance at the show, but traditiona­lly there will be a donation box at the door. The proceeds will go towards purchasing two goats for Bóthar. Please support generously. The following times are as follows: Junior and senior infants at 9.30 a.m., First Class at 10.30 a.m., Second and Third Class at 11.30 a.m., Forth Class at12.30 p.m., Fifth and Sixth Class at 1.30 p.m. We look forward to meeting you all during the Christmas plays.

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE – With Christmas right around the corner the parents’ council’s yearly Christmas Raffle takes place on Friday, December 13, in St Brigid’s Hall at 10 a.m. Raffle prizes include hampers, vouchers and other items. In order to make the hampers and prizes, we are looking for donations of non-perishable items, such as vouchers, small craft item, tinned foods, sweets, biscuits, dry packed foods (pasta, noodles) and drinks. No frozen foods, fresh fruit, meat items or other perishable items will be accepted. The committee will be will be putting together the hampers in the school on Thursday, December 12. If you have some spare time, come and lend a hand while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. Your help is greatly appreciate­d.

PIETA HOUSE FUNDRAISER

The Pieta House Fundraiser event takes place in Rivers Edge, Bunclody on Saturday, November 30, at 9.30 p.m. Donation buckets will be on the door, all donations is greatly appreciate­d. Live music by Trademark. There will be a raffle on the night. To start of the Christmas season, why not wear your Christmas jumper.
