Carthy promises strong voice in Dáil

- By MARIA PEPPER

Independent councillor Ger Carthy has officially announced that he is running for Dáil Éireann in the upcoming general election.

Having topped the poll in the local elections of May 2019 and been re-elected to Wexford County Council for a second consecutive term, he said he believes the time is now right for him to serve the people of Wexford at national level and provide the strong representation they deserve.

‘As an independent candidate I will be campaigning on the key issues that make a real difference to people in their everyday life such as health, education, housing and job creation, as well as seeking to ensure a positive and prosperous future for the youth of today and our children’, he said.

‘As chairperson of the Rosslare Municipal District, one of my main focus points has been the development of Rosslare Europort and its facilities. Having made good progress in this area, I intend to continue to push the upgrade of this valuable asset that I know can help boost the economy of the whole of County Wexford.’

The HSE ambulance paramedic said that he has worked as a health professional on the front line for over 12 years and knows only too well the difficulties faced by patients and healthcare workers alike in the current unacceptable situation’.

‘My in depth knowledge and understanding of patient and staff needs has me well placed to ensure the very best for our health service.

‘If you want your local voice to be heard at the national table without the shackles of party politics, then I strongly urge the people of Wexford to ‘Forget the Parties, and vote

No. 1 Ger Carthy’.
