Adamstown in command

-

WITH THE Gaynor Cup squads in action on Sunday, several of our Under-14 fixtures had to be postponed and, coupled with frozen pitches, six games survived.

The big game of the day saw Ballindaggin play Adamstown in a top of the table clash in Division 1 and, after a titanic clash, Adamstown came out 2-1 winners.

Leah Roban scored for Ballindaggin, but two goals from Megan Martin gave the visitors a very valuable three points that moves them level with their opponents and three points behind leaders Bridge Rovers.

Division 2A leaders Shelburne proved far too strong for a very young Forth Celtic side, and goals from Caoimhe Bolger (four), Neala Barron (two), Keelin Barron (two), Leah Byrne and Eibhlin McHale saw them run out comfortable winners.

Second-placed Bree kept up the pressure on the leaders when an Abbie Doyle hat-trick saw them overcome St. Joseph’s 3-0, while Ross Town’s second string overcame Rosslare Rangers 5-0 with goals from Clara Walsh, Aoife O’Leary and a Ciara Nolan hat-trick.

One game survived in Division 2B where New Ross Celtic beat Fastnet Rovers 3-0, with two goals from Sinéad Jones and one from Teresa Touchard.

In Division 3, St. Leonards travelled to Shamrock Rovers and keep the pressure on Curracloe United seconds as they came away 6-0 winners.

In the Under-18 game that was played, Curracloe travelled to Bree and won 5-1 with a hat-trick from Emma Neville and a goal each from Grace Harding-Kenny and Rebecca Fanning, while Holly Dunne-Maher was on target for the home side.
