JAMES SHIPLEY FESTIVAL

The James Shipley Festival will take place in Blackwater from May 20 to May 24. This festival Is being organised to acknowledg­e the artistry and craftmansh­ip of this unique carpenter whose legacy can be admired not only in our own church but also in many churches in the diocese. We will keep you informed of what’s happening on these five days in May as the time gets closer.

MODERN JIVE CLASSES

There are modern jive classes have started in Blackwater parish hall each Wednesday. The classes will be given by Fran Cullen and they will run from 8.30 p.m. till 11 p.m. Modern jive is a great way to learn or improve your dance skills, to get fit and to have great night out. Cost €10.

PILATES

Two Pilates classes will commence in Blackwater community centre from January 21, on Tuesdays at 11.30 a.m. and Thursdays at 8.15 p.m.

Debbie is qualified in Joseph Pilates and Stott Pilates and Advanced Pilates. She has additional qualificat­ions in pregnancy pilates, pilates for back pain and also for Older population. She is a qualified registered Nurse for over 20 years and has been teaching pilates successful­ly for over eight years. Debbie can be contacted at 086 8122535 for further informatio­n.
