Kid in control with five-length win

ANOTHER COLD night on Thursday did not spoil some good track action at Enniscorthy over various distances, and here are some of the highlights.

Race five was over the 575 yards trip, and there was an impressive winner when trap five runner Relet Kid took control at the first bend and raced to a clearcut five-length success in a time of 32.12 -30 slow.

This fellow had been finishing well over the standard trip and enjoyed the step up in journey this time for sure.

Race three saw another wide-margin winner in Roanna Sky, also coming out of the five box.

Indeed, there was no less than five trap five winners on the night, but none were easier than Roanna as she stormed home a nine and a half lengths victor in a good 29.32 -30 slow.

Race four saw Kiltrea Ellie storm home from the third bend as she collared leader Cotswold Inn off the final bend to come away to score by three and a half lengths. A step up in trip is now very likely.

Race seven saw Whitewood Lassie turn second into the back straight before making her move at the third bend to sweep to the lead.

She came away to score by four lengths in a good 29.39 -30 slow, and this lightly-raced lady could have more improvement to come.

Race nine appeared to be a hot-looking A2, and so it proved as Karlow Henry had to pull out all the stops to hold on for a narrow victory in the end.

Karlow led but was pushed all the way by Kiltrea Dawn before the strong-running Rental Dispute put in the strongest finish to be only a head short of Karlow on the line. The time was 29.27.

Race five, The Track Side Diner 575 Stakes: 1, Relet Kid (owners, the Jonahs syndicate, Carnew, Co. Wicklow), 31.82; 2, Reality Assassin, 32.17.
