Strand see off St. Leonards

Wexford Cup

Division 3 promotion-hopefuls Rosslare Strand dumped Division 2 high-flyers St. Leonards out of the Creane and Creane Insurance Wexford Cup on Sunday.

The seasiders ran out 4-2 winners in their third round clash, with Danny O’Reilly giving them a 1-0 half-time advantage.

O’Reilly scored from the penalty spot after the interval, while Dillon Parle also added a double. Shane Ryan and Adrian Flynn replied for Leonards.

Division 1 leaders North End United ‘B’ safely made it through as goals from Shane Beary-Cahill and Richard Kearney gave them a 2-0 win over Taghmon United.

Fellow second tier outfit Glynn Barntown eased into the fourth round as they strolled to a 9-0 triumph over The Ballagh United.

Robert Dempsey and David Clarke both contribute­d hat-tricks, while two own goals and Patsy Malone added to their handsome tally.

Premier Division title-challenger­s Gorey Rangers continue to impress on all fronts, and on Sunday they hit Adamstown for six without reply, with Dylan Vickers scoring a hat-trick and Jonathan Savage, David ‘Swack’ Behan and Ethan Vickers grabbing a goal apiece.

Noel Roche hit the back of the net five times for Cloughbawn as they ran out 10-0 winners against Shamrock Rovers ‘B’.

Páidí Cullen (two), Cillian Doyle, Johnny Cullen and Daire Furlong also got on the scoresheet for the winners.

Top flight strugglers Bunclody had too much for Forth Celtic ‘B’, running out 3-1 winners with goals from Chris Kelly, Danny Farrell and

Cian Cowman.

Shane Mernagh and P.J. O’Brien hit the back of the net for Castledock­rell as they secured a 2-1 win away to Cloughbawn ‘B’, with Adam O’Connor scoring for the hosts.

Gorey Celtic won 2-0 away to Shelburne United ‘B, with Eddie Prudskojs and Max Denisiuk on target for the north county side, while Tombrack United ‘A’ had far too much firepower for Tombrack ‘B’.

The first team ran out emphatic 8-0 winners, with Matthew Hendrick and Eoin Carton both scoring doubles, and Mick Kelly, Josh McMullen, Evan Maher and an own goal adding to their tally.

Division1

Ferns United joined North End at the top of the Division 1 table after an emphatic victory over New Ross Celtic on Sunday.

Ferns chalked up a 6-0 triumph, with Ryan Nolan and Conor Jordan both scoring doubles and Ian Byrne and Keith Breen adding a goal apiece.

Elsewhere, an Andy Doyle goal was enough for Bridge Rovers to pick up three points against Corach Ramblers.

Division2

Curracloe United moved three points clear at the top of Division 2 after a 2-0 away win over Gorey Rangers on Sunday.

Seán Keane-Carroll and Conor Hearne hit the back of the net for the high-flying seasiders.

Division3

St. Joseph’s moved to within a point of leaders Ajax Athletic after a comfortabl­e win in Cushinstow­n on Sunday.

Des Mythen bagged a hat-trick in their 4-0 victory, with Seán Keane also getting in on the act.

Duncannon were in second place going into the weekend but they had to settle for a share of the spoils after grabbing a last-gasp equaliser to earn a 3-3 draw with Wexford Celtic.

Devin Wall-Walsh, Aaron Curry and Michael O’Grady got the goals for the seasiders.

Division3A

It was draws all round in Division 3A on Sunday, with all three fixtures ending in stalemates.

Dion Dunne bagged both goals for Bunclody in their 2-2 draw with Wexford Bohs, with Shane Bergin and Robbie O’Connor replying.

Mick Kelleher netted for Rosbercon United in their 1-1 draw with Ballymurn, with Eoghan Kehoe responding for Celtic.

Meanwhile, a late equaliser from Barry Dunne earned Oylegate United a 1-1 draw against Fastnet Rovers.

Division4

Rosslare Rangers moved to top spot in Division 4 with a 4-1 win over Ferns United on Sunday.

Cian Buttle, Conor O’Reilly, Conor Cafferkey and Jason Ellard all hit the back of the net for Rangers, with Dickie Redmond replying.

Camolin Celtic are hot on their heels, just a point adrift in second, after a 7-1 triumph over St. Joseph’s. Paul Carton, Glen Carton, Martin Wadding, Darragh Curran, Ashley Tully and Daryl Murphy (two) all scored for the high-flyers, with Jamie Warren replying.

Carne FC picked up a precious three points as a Danny Walsh double earned them a 2-0 away win over Bridge Rovers.

Eoin O’Connor, Aaron Neville and Dylan Murphy scored for Corach Ramblers in their 3-3 draw with Caim United, with James Howlin (two) and Anthony Peare on the mark for the visitors.

Division4A

Leaders St. Leonards were on cloud nine on Sunday as they romped to a 9-0 victory in Curracloe.

Tommy Byrne (two), Tarique Ngouoto, Matty Flynn, Dylan Ryan, Aaron Whelan, Mark O’Neill, Ben Whitty and Niall Molloy all scored for the saints.

Wexford Bohs are three points behind the leaders, but with three games in hand, after chalking up a 3-1 win away to Shamrock Rovers.

Daniel Mullins, Eoin Whitty and Beau Brennan got the goals for Bohs.

Division5

All Blacks and Camolin Celtic lead the way in Division 5 after both recorded impressive wins on Sunday.

Mark Sinnott was the main man for All Blacks as he contribute­d five goals in their 7-2 win over Fastnet Rovers, with John Codd and Darren Naughton adding a goal apiece.

Camolin Celtic ran out 3-0 winners over Ajax Athletic, with Cian Byrne netting a double and Luke Walker also hitting the back of the net.

Wexford Celtic fought back from 2-0 down to edge out Adamstown 3-2 with goals from Reuben Deane, Darragh Whelan and Ger O’Keeffe. Mark Lee and Seán Woods got on the scoresheet for Adamstown.
