CAMOGIE FUNDRAISER

Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club are hosting a ‘Breakfast Morning’ on Sunday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. It is a lovely way to meet family and friends for a chat and a nice way to get to know other parishione­rs and club members. The camogie club would appreciate lots of support We look forward to seeing you all there. Cost €10 adults and €5 for children under-16.

CLUB LOTTO

The lotto draw takes place every two weeks. The prize fund is now €15,000. The €30 lucky-dip winners were Danny Dempsey, Katie Walsh, Darryl and Mag Gray, Jack Hughes, Tom Fenlon. All money made from the lotto go towards the upkeep and maintenanc­e of the club. We would encourage everyone to support the lotto.

GAA AND CAMOGIE CLUB REGISTRATI­ON.

CAMOGIE EVENTS FOR MARCH

March is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month for Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club. ‘March Movement Hour’ kicks off on March 1, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the top pitch for all girls from under-sixes to under-12s. This is a fundamenta­l skills programme being run over four weeks (March 1, 8, 22 and 29) and will be facilitate­d by Dale Murphy – Butler. It will be fun – filled and aims to prepare the girls for the season ahead.

‘HURL WITH ME’ is taking place on March 4 from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. at the top pitch. James Donoghue, club GPO, will facilitate this workshop which is designed to help parents become comfortabl­e with the basic skills of camogie so that they can help their daughter(s) practise and hone their skills throughout the year ahead.

BINGO

Bob’s Charity Bingo for the camogie club begins on March 10 at 9 p.m. and will run for eight weeks. Bob’s Bingo is a great community night out and thanks to all at Bob’s for including the camogie club for this fundraiser. Spread the word and we hope to see as many players and supporters as possible over the eight weeks.

COISTE NA NÓG EVENTS

Most of our under – age boys are back training and are making full use of the Astro Playing area at the top pitch. Our under-13 and under-15 boys are playing in the Cross-County Leinster Leagues and the under-17 boys have their first Championsh­ip Match on Sunday, March 15, against Askamore in Ballyrobuc­k at 11 a.m. The under-11 boys will be back on Tuesday, March 3, and the under-nine, under-seven boys and Nursery will all be back soon. The pitches will be a hive of activity over the coming weeks with most of the age groups of boys and girls back training. There will be a Turas Workshop for all mentors involved with the Underage teams on next Wednesday, February 26, beginning at 7.30 p.m. in the Top Complex and all mentors are encouraged to attend.

IRISH SCHOLARSHI­PS

Parents/Guardians of underage GAA and camogie players who would like their youngster to avail of a chance to win a part-funded, two-week scholarshi­p to Coláiste Laighean, Good Counsel, New Ross are asked to submit their names to Breda Jacob (Irish Officer) or Liz Freeman (Coiste na nÓg Sec) no later than Wednesday, February 27, at 8 p.m.
