HOW OUR LEADERS ARE DOING

-

BERNADETTE BUCKLEY

So much has happened since I last wrote on here a few weeks ago. Myself and some of the other leaders were lucky enough to take part in a class with Jane Kennedy from Wexford Pilates Studio.

The class took place in Bellefield in Enniscorthy and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it... way more than I thought I would. Jane is such a good instructor, she is calming, funny and down to earth and really made me feel at ease.

Apart from all the stretches etc. which were fantastic, I found the breathing techniques very interesting.

It took me a while to master as there is surprisingly more thought and concentration required than I expected. It made me feel extremely relaxed and I can’t wait to go back to the class on Saturday. After this class I went straight to Nolan Health and Fitness on the Old Dublin Road for my bleep test. I was delighted to have increased my fitness level by almost 2 levels.

Hopefully this will rise however to have gotten this far is progress enough. Sean is also putting us through our paces at the gym with various workouts and I never thought I’d do a body pump class but himself and Ger persuaded me to do just that.

There was no heavy impact on my legs and although I found it tough, again I was happy to have been able to do it. We also made it to the track at Enniscorthy Sports Hub for some intense training with Kevin, Martina and the gang. Getting the required amount of training in is extremely tough, especially when you have three kids, a full time job and other commitments, but this programme is life

Hi everyone, over the last few weeks we have been upping our training and I’m seeing great progress.

Even Storm Ciara didn’t hamper us as Sean took no pity on us and sent us out running not once but twice in the wind but we were all delighted we still managed to complete it even with gale force winds in our face so we must be getting fitter!

We were with Sean last Saturday as well working on the machines and my fitness levels have definitely improved as is my posture as my core is getting stronger.

I unfortunately can’t make the track on Thursday night’s with Kevin so I do my running at home or in the gym if the weather is bad. As the evenings are getting brighter I hope more people will sign up for the Hope and Dream, as it’s never too late to start training and join in the fun and atmosphere on the day! changing and so rewarding.

I have seen so many of the other leaders surpass themselves over the past few weeks and as a large group with so many characters we really have so many laughs and the camaraderie and support is exceptional.
