Local Enterprise Office Wexford is proud to support women in business

-

SUPPORTING and fostering female entrepreneurship is a priority in Future Jobs Ireland, the whole-of- Government plan to prepare Ireland’s businesses and workers for the future. Enterprise Ireland are working closely with the Local Enterprise Offices to create an entrepreneurial environment that encourages and nurtures the business talents of women across the country. LEO Wexford is proud to support women in business and increasing number of female entrepreneurs are being supported by LEO Wexford with 675 women attending training courses in 2019. A recent half-day ‘Female Entrepreneur Development Programme’ which was organised as part of Local Enterprise Week saw 23 women attend to receive introductory training on goal setting and motivation as well as developing a strategy for their business and working on sales skills. This will be followed up by a 3 day (one day a week) programme from Christine O’Brien and her team from Talentpool Ltd

Coming from three generations of successful female entrepreneurs as far back as 1920 and with experience of working in Ireland and abroad with large multinationals Christine understands fully what it takes to make an enterprise succeed. During this three day Female Entrepreneur Business Development programme Christine will share her wealth of one hundred years of family business knowledge, the learning from her modern business qualifications and her wisdom from a track record of business success in Ireland.

National Women’s Enterprise Day is a key milestone for Local Enterprise Offices around the country. Since its’ inception, the popularity of NWED has grown and every year LEO’s have more female success stories in business to highlight. The events held are as important as ever, as they connect female entrepreneurs and give them the opportunity to learn from each other and share business challenges and solutions.

In 2019 Local Enterprise Offices organised 17 entrepreneurial events across the country under the theme of ‘Making It Happen’, funded by the Government of Ireland in partnership with Enterprise Ireland and Local Authorities. Almost 100 women attended the Wexford event in Newbay House in 2019 and another successful event will be organised in Wexford for the 2020 event on October 14th.

For any female entrepreneurs in business or starting one up, go and talk to the team at your Local Enterprise Office and they will quickly put you on a path to the right enterprise supports.
