Courtown edge out Crossabeg

Wexford Cup

Premier Division outfit Courtown Hibs were pushed hard by Crossabeg, but eventually came out on top 2-1 in their Creane and Creane Insurance Wexford Cup third round tie on Sunday.

Robert Murphy hit the back of the net for the Division 2 side, but goals from Colin O’Brien and Glen Hughes saw Hibs progress.

Campile United safely negotiated their way past Ferns United ‘B’, winning 5-1 with goals from Barry Hearn (two), Mossy Kent, Graham ‘Dax’ Howlin and Johnny Keating, with Byron Jordan replying.

Division 2 leaders Curracloe United also progressed to the fourth round by overcoming Shelburne United 3-0 with goals from Seán Keane-Carroll, Thomas Murphy and Stephen McGuire.

Neil O’Sullivan Cup

New Ross Celtic booked their place in the third round of the Neil O’Sullivan Cup with a penalty shoot-out success over Corach Ramblers on Sunday.

The sides were deadlocked at 2-2 after extra-time, with David O’Connor and Seán Culleton scoring for the Barrowside­rs and Niall Harney and John Staples replying.

Rory O’Connor, Seán Culleton, Ethan Butler and Garry O’Connor all converted their spot-kicks for the winners in the shoot-out.

Ryan Nolan, Conor Jordan, Ian Byrne and Patrick Breen got the goals for Ferns United in their 4-1 win over Enniscorth­y United, while a Seán Roche goal was enough for Gorey Rangers ‘B’ to see off North End United’s second string 1-0.

Billy Browne Cup

Cian Mac Aogáin was the main man for Crossabeg ‘B’ on Sunday as his hat-trick helped them to a comfortabl­e Billy Browne Cup second round win over Caim United. Seán Kelly got their other goal in a 4-0 success.

All Blacks romped to a 6-2 win over Wexford Bohs, with Darren Naughton and Shane Cassidy both netting doubles for the Mayglass outfit, and Greg Troy and an own goal adding to their tally.

Shane Lawlor and Seamus Mahon hit the back of the net for Rathnure as they edged out Rosslare Rangers ‘B’ 2-1, while Seán B. Foley put Fethard Rangers ahead straight from a corner but they lost 3-1 to Fastnet Rovers.

Oylegate United needed a penalty shoot-out to get past St. Joseph’s ‘B’, winning 4-2 on spot-kicks after a 1-1 draw.

Brendan McCreary fired Joey’s in front just after the interval, but Pa Cullen drew Oylegate level five minutes later.

Gwyn Jones Cup

Beau Brennan had his shooting boots on on Sunday as he helped Wexford Bohs ‘C’ to book their place in the third round of the Gwyn Jones Cup.

Brennan helped himself to a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Castledock­rell, with Eoin Whitty also getting in on the act.

Tommy Storey also bagged a treble as The Ballagh United overcame St. Leonards B 4-2. Martin Og Storey got on the scoresheet too for the winners, with Tommy Byrne and Páraic Conway replying.

Dean Earle (two), Cian Byrne and Michael Murphy got the goals for Camolin Celtic ‘B’ as they ran out 4-0 winners over Shamrock Rovers ‘C’.

Thomas Jeffers hit the back of the net for Tombrack United ‘B’, but it was mere consolatio­n as Enniscorth­y United ‘B’ ran out emphatic 6-1 winners.

Campile United ‘B’ proved too strong for Adamstown’s second string, winning 3-0 with goals from Marty Nolan, Paddy Roche and Dylan Whitty.

Division 3A

Rosbercon United made the long journey to Courtown worthwhile as they returned home with three points in the bag after a hard-fought 3-2 victory.

Ramon Fernandez, Tommy Quinn and Michael Dowling all hit the back of the net for the visitors.

Division4

Camolin Celtic moved to within a point of leaders Rosslare Rangers, with three games in hand, after a 3-1 win over Bridge Rovers on Sunday.

Glen Carton and Daryl Murphy (two) got on the scoresheet for the high-flyers.

Division5

Shelburne United moved to within three points of leaders Camolin with a 4-1 away win over Fastnet Rovers on Sunday.

Jack Murphy bagged a double for the title-hopefuls, while Eoin Burke and an own goal added to their tally.

Meanwhile, Wexford Celtic won 5-3 away to Enniscorth­y United with Ger O’Keeffe, Conor Meyler, Kenny Jordan and Darragh Whelan (two) scoring for the winners.

LFA Youth Cup

North End United bowed out of the LFA Youth Cup at the quarter-final stage when they were beaten by a strong Leixlip United side on Saturday.

Josh Shiel and Conor Foley got the goals for the Wexford town side.

Youth Division1

Forth Celtic moved three points clear at the top of the MMI Group Youth Division 1 with a 3-1 win over Wexford Celtic on Saturday.

Cathal Dowd bagged a double for the Murrintown side, with Darragh Collins also hitting the back of the net for the winners.
