MULTI AWARD WINNING BEAUTY SALON
Denise’s Beauty & Skin Clinic was established in 1996 by Denise Bennett at the tender age of 19. Having qualified in the prestigious Bronwyn Conroy Beauty School at 18, Denise went on to work in 2 salons before branching out on her own.
The salon grew over the years and when the recession hit Ireland, Denise took a different approach to the business in order to survive the downturn. In doing so she purpose build a salon on the outskirts of the town and concentrated on high quality treatments at affordable prices in a tranquil setting with free parking.
From here the salon trebled its turnover in a few short years, expanded twice and now has a staff of 8 highly qualified therapists delivering top quality treatments.
It wasn’t all plain sailingand we hit many obstacles like ESB issues and Broadband issues being on the outskirts of town. With many storms now a regular thing for the south east and not being in the town centre, ESB wasn’t a priorityin the area with losing power for more than a week at a time so Denise had to invest in a large Generator with automatic changeover to ensure a smooth running of the business. The same applied to broadband in rural areas so after long negotiations she finally got a network to support the growth of the business in terms of software etc. which is all now cloud based.
Open 24 years in November we are now bringing the salon to the next level. We have recently recruited a Front of House Co Ordinator to ensure customer service is priority and we are currently working on a new website to go e-commerce in the coming months.
Denise has spent the last year with Liz McKeon Beauty Business Expert with her as a mentorand this has proved to be an invaluable experience and we have continued with this mentorship again for this year. We are very excited at where we are going with the salon next year!!
All of her therapists are fully trained Make Up Artists and are constantly Upskilling as trends rapidly change within the industry. These include 4 Bridal Make Up artists who specialise in weddings. We attribute a lot of our success to our training programme. Knowledge is power and we keep up to date with new skills and refreshing existing skills, which in turn serves better treatments.
Denise and her team have won many Beauty Awards over the years. We achieved “Salon of the year” with 3 skin care brands for 2019 within all of Ireland which is a huge achievement for us given the amount of Beauty & Skin Clinics in the country.
