WHERE would you find a podiatrist, a drama teacher and a fitness coach all in one location? At a bookclub! For Lucy Grannell, Stephaine Quigley and Olga Conway they extol the virtues of their bookclub in supporting and encouraging them as business owners.
Owning your own business can be a lonely venture but having a group of people who are willing to listen to your ideas, issues and plans is invaluable. ‘ The ladies in our bookclub are a wonderful sounding board, with nothing but support and honesty. After our families, they are certainly our biggest advocates. They should be on commission’, Olga laughs.
Olga Conway has been running her own drama school, ‘Discovering Drama’ for seventeen years. She teaches drama to students aged 5 to 18 years in Wexford Town, Bree and Piercestown. Her students are currently preparing for two performances on the O’Reilly stage in the National Opera House one in March and one in May. Olga is extending her teaching to include Shakespeare workshops in secondary schools. In addition to her drama qualifications, she trained at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon and received a Postgraduate Certificate Award in ‘ Teaching Shakespeare to
Young People’.
The Mum Gym is a fitness studio catering for mums at all stages of motherhood. Run by mum of three Stephanie Quigley, Stephanie offers both group classes and semi personal training for all Mums, be they expecting mums, new mums, mums on the school run or those experiencing anything from peri to post menopause. Stephanie has a keen interest in women’s health and helping mums at every stage of their journey, having qualifications specific to these various delicate points in life. The Mum Gym also doubles up as a fantastic social outlet for mums which is invaluable when navigating motherhood.
The Grannell Footcare and Orthotic Clinic is a podiatry and orthotic clinic in Wexford town. Lucy Grannell is the owner and clinician at the clinic and is enthusiastic about the foot and lower limb health of the community. The clinic will be celebrating its two year anniversary in their current location and Liam, (Lucy’s husband) joined the team as office manager in January of this year. Lucy provides you with the complete foot care package with chiropody, podiatry and orthotic care available. She is the only dual qualified orthotist and podiatrist in Ireland and can take care of all your foot and lower limb needs in one location.
