Intel boss Eamonn Sinnott returns to his alma mater

THE Wexford-born business leader Eamonn Sinnott has shared his journey from the Kevin Street Technologi­cal University of Dublin to the head of Intel in Ireland with the latest recipients of a sponsored scholarshi­p programme at the college.

MR. Sinnott, who is Vice President of Manufactur­ing and Operations and General Manager of Intel Ireland, returned to his alma mater to talk about his career during the awarding of scholarshi­ps to Intel Ireland Scholarshi­p students.

In conversati­on with Dave Kilmartin, Head of the Career Developmen­t Centre atTU Dublin, shared his memories of student life in Kevin Street, the lessons he learned along the way and his thoughts about the skills and competenci­es that students need to forge a successful career in this technologi­cal era.

Kevin Street has been synonymous with scientific and technologi­cal education in Ireland and generation­s of graduates have gone on to become leaders and innovators in high-tech sectors in Ireland and around the world.

Mr. Sinnott is regarded as one of the most successful graduates of his generation and the university invited him back to Kevin Street for one last time as it prepares to move 10,000 students to a new flagship campus in Grangegorm­an.

TU Dublin is Ireland’s first Technologi­cal University with campuses in Dublin City, Tallaght and Blanchards­town.

Intel is a leader in the semi-conductor industry, shaping the future of computing and communicat­ions technology.
