The Byrne family would like to sincerely like to thank everyone who donated or supported or helped in anyway with their walk on January 5 in aid of Cappagh for Kids. Abbie was trilled to hand over a grand total of €4,917.01 to her surgeon Dr Conor Green and staff at Cappagh for kids on Thursday morning last. We are extremely grateful to everyone, please accept this thanks as a very big thank you.

It is lovely to give back something to Cappagh Hospital as staff and doctors in cappagh was so good to Abbie.

HERITAGE SOCIETY

Craanford Heritage Society would like to take this opportunit­y to thank everyone for yet again making the Markie Doyle Memorial Vintage Road Run a huge success this year. Thank you to all who helped on the day and everyone who donated or supported in anyway, especially all the ladies in the kitchen. The Proceeds of the Road Run will be presented to the North Wexford Hospice Homecare on Saturday, March 7, at 8 p.m. in Craanford Community Centre. It would be great to see everyone there. Craanford Sports Complex extends a warm welcome to Junior Achievemen­t Ireland, who will be visiting shortly with their schools roadshow. JAI seek and to inspire and motivate young people to realise their potential by valuing education and understand­ing how to succeed in the world of work.

A Used Clothes Collection will take place in Craanford over the weekend of March 28/29 clean clothes only please. We also accept shoes (pairs only), handbags and belts, but please note that pillows and duvets cannot be re-used for hygiene reasons. Full details to follow. Strictly 2020 is up and running, a word of thanks to all our dancers who have being so generous with their commitment and time towards this project. A wonderful afternoon of social dancing took place in Craanford Community Centre on Sunday last with local musician Paul Molloy, who kept the dancers busy with his lively playlist. It was indeed great to see such energy and enthusiasm. Thanks to everyone for their support, to all who donated raffle prizes, cakes and refreshmen­ts and to Jacqui and Mick for organising the event. Your support is greatly appreciate­d.

On Sunday, March 22, a five a side soccer tournament will take place at 2 p.m. why not grab a few friends and take part. Full details to follow.

In atrocious conditions our men’s adult team won their Leinster league match against Confey of Kildare. The local derby match V Askamore is TBC, check Facebook for details.

Our camogie team have a practise match at home against Ferns also at the weekend.

A Go Coaching shed blitz for under-nines will take place in Craanford Indoor sports complex over the next few weekends, best of luck to our young hurlers and footballer­s, thanks to all the mentors and parents for your support #workingtog­ether.

The ‘Down Memory Lane’ books that were printed a few years ago didn’t all sell after printing extra copies and were stored. A small number of them have been left down here in the parish office where you can pick up 116 pages of local history and connection­s for just €5.
