Cleaning companies in high demand

- By MARIA PEPPER

PROFESSIONAL cleaning companies are on the frontline in the battle against coronavirus and their services have never been more in demand.

‘We are flat out and most of our clients have significantly increased their cleaning rotas’, said Paul Whelan of Whelan Cleaning Systems.

‘We find that companies are being very responsible. They are not being mean-spirited or resistant in any way. They are being extremely generous in their approach and in their purchase of cleaning and disinfectant products’, said Paul.

‘ They are being very careful in relation to the welfare of their employees and their customers and are making sure to have adequate supplies of hand sanitising and cleaning gels on their premises’.

‘ There is a big demand on supplies. As soon as we get them in, they’re gone. But we have plenty of suppliers and we can get stocks to our clients’, he said.

Whelans have a wide range of customers from factories and offices to hotels and supermarkets and demand for deep cleaning of interiors, desks, computers, phones and door handles has never been higher.

‘We are definitely at the front line and we’re a lot busier than usual as companies do their utmost to try to minimise the spread of the coronavirus’, said Paul.

Apart from carrying out standard deep cleaning, Whelans are also on standby for specialist cleaning services to clean indoor or outdoor areas which have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of coronavirus, with protective suits and masks available for staff to wear.
