WANDERERS CRICKET
W.W.C.C. was established in 1976, and has played in the Leinster Senior leagues since then.
Wexford Wanderers share their ground with the rugby club of the same name, based on Park Lane. The club is very diverse and welcoming, with the ethos of being part of a team being paramount. There are over 50 people involved in the club.
We currently have two teams playing in the Leinster Senior league. The first eleven play in Division 5, with the second eleven in Division 14.
There is also a Junior team with a mixture of all ages of boys and girls.
During 2019 efforts of both our teams proved very admirable, with the seconds winning the Minor Cup and finishing third in Division 15, whilst our firsts were runners-up in the Middle Cup and finished in sixth place in Division 5.
The new season is nearly upon us, and indoor training had started in earnest at St. Joseph’s Community Hall on Distillery Road recently.
Wexford Wanderers Juniors have an exciting season ahead with their involvement in the development league.
Of particular significance is the creation of a new inter-schools Wexford cup competition which will be called the Crossy Cup.
This the same cup was previously used between Phoenix Cricket Club and Wexford. This is sure to bring added excitement and exposure to our sport across the county.
The youth cricket will be a little different this year with the introduction of the development team for the older children, however the youth cricket will continue as per previous seasons, with weekly training and friendly matches being arranged.
Wexford Wanderers is a club which prides itself in its diversity, and our club has members and players from all around the world.
New members are always welcome, whether a beginner or experienced, and the Juniors would like to see more girls and boys for the development team.
Everybody is welcome to visit and get involved.
