Ex solicitor facing tax charges

FORMER Solicitor, David Elio Malocco, came before Wexford Circuit Criminal Court in relation to a number of tax offences.

Malocco, with an address of 32 Skuna Bay, Donaghmore, Gorey, came before Judge Sean O’Donnabhain on Friday last.

When the case was called Counsel for the defendant, instructed by Arthur Valley, Solicitor, applied for an adjournmen­t to next term as they needed more time.

There is quite an extensive Book of Evidence in the case with the defendant before the court on charges relating to VAT.

The defendant is facing a series of charges where he knowingly or wilfully delivered to Office of Collector General, Sarsfield House, Limerick, incorrect returns in connection with Value Added Tazx dating back to May/June, 2011.

He is also facing charges of making a number of claims for a repayment of VAT, on separate occasions dating back to November 11, 2011, to which to his knowledge he was not entitled to. He is also facing charges of making incorrect returns of VAT being a Director of IB Internet Listings Ltd., having a registered office at An Teach Draoicht, 1 Skuna Hill, Donaghmore, Gorey.

Judge O’Donnabhain granted the applicatio­n for the adjournmen­t. He adjourned the matter back to next term, May 14.

Mr. Malocco once ran a successful legal firm, married a granddaugh­ter of Eamon de Valera and served on the board of the now defunct Irish Press Newspaper Group.

Since then he has branched out into criminolog­y, publishing and film-making.

He describes himself on his Linkdein page as ‘Dr. David Elio Malocco, financial services, stockbroke­r, lecturer, author and part-time filmmaker’.

He has diplomas in the Psychology of Criminal Profiling and in Forensic Science, specialisi­ng in crime scene analysis. Mr. Malocco has written screenplay­s, produced and directed numerous shorts and three feature films and has written a series of books on the psychology of criminals, such as Serial Sex Killers, Real American Psychos and Sexual Psychopath: British Serial Killers.

He has also written a series about conspiraci­es, including one titleD The Beatles Conspiracy, which questions whether Paul McCartney was actually an original member of The Beatles or an imposter.
