STAFF SAFETY THE PRIORITY AS PRODUCTION CONTINUES AT INTEGER

-

THE county’s largest employer Integer has remained open throughout the Covid-19 crisis, manufacturing stents which help to save human lives around the world.

Senior Director of Operations Pauline Oakes said: ‘With news about Covid-19 constantly developing, our priorities at Integer continue to be the safety of our more than 900 New Ross associates and 8,500 of our associates worldwide, while providing our customers with the medical devices they need. The patients who rely on the medical technologies we create, with our customers needing us now more than ever.’

Ms Oakes said the staff work in a critical infrastructure industry and carry out ‘vital work that helps sustain and save human lives’.

‘We are proud of how our teams in New Ross and around the world have stepped up to continue to take care of our customers during very uncertain times. Many Integer associates are working diligently to ensure the patients who are most vulnerable to this unforgiving virus continue to receive life-enhancing, and in some cases, life-saving technology. These patients need our devices to pace hearts, manage pain and administer critical therapies,’ she said.

Integer, along with the rest of the world, is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation.

‘We are implementing our Pandemic Policy and will update based on guidance from the World Health Organization as the situation evolves.

To ensure associate safety, we are, where possible: asking associates to work remotely to create social distance in our workplace, enforcing visitor guidance and screening, reinforcing that sick employees should stay home and honor quarantine guidelines, implementing more rigorous cleaning and disinfection procedures and restricting business travel.’
