County libraries providing extensive online service
READERS fear not, even though all public libraries are closed to the public for the foreseeable, an extensive range of services are still being offered online for people of all ages to enjoy.
County Librarian Eileen Morrissey said: ‘In line with the Government response to Covid-19, all public libraries nationwide are closed from March 13 to April 19 at the earliest. We want to reassure our regular users that they won’t incur any fee or fine for items they have outstanding. We look forward to welcoming them back when we reopen. In the meantime, we would encourage members of the public to check out all the fantastic free resources available for people of all ages online.’
The following eResources are available with Wexford Libraries.
1: You can access thousands of e-books and e-audiobooks from home with the BorrowBox app.
2: Access thousands of the latest magazines and comics with RB Digital Comics and Magazines.
3: Keep up to date with the latest news through our PressReader app. This includes free access to local and national papers.
4: Want to learn a language? Choose from 110+ languages including English with Transparent Language Online.
5: Freegal Music is new free music service from Wexford Libraries which allows you to access over 15 million songs.
6: You can also take an online course with Universal Class. Access over 500 courses with tutors who will oversee your learning.
All you need to access these services is a library membership. We have relaxed our membership rules during this time so that people can join the library, get a virtual library card and PIN and use the e-resources without visiting their local library.
