CHURCH NEWS

Dear Friends, Following the directions given by the Ferns Diocesan authorities, Fr Felix and I are not celebrating any further public Masses either during the week or at weekends for the time being. We will continue to celebrate private Masses for your intentions and should you wish you may telephone us to remember particular intentions. Our churches will remain open for visits each day as usual and I commend the wonderful prayer of Adoration and also of the Stations of the Cross to you. Baptisms will take place but we encourage you to be aware of the need to maintain social distancing and to observe the restrictions on numbers attending. In the event of a funeral we will celebrate Funeral Masses but appeal to immediate family only to attend in the church. All others are encouraged to attend for the graveside prayers. The parish office will remain open as usual. We encourage you to follow all government advice and restrict your social interactions and wash your hands frequently. I will celebrate Mass on Craanford-Monaseed Facebook page at 10 a.m. daily and would be delighted if you are available to join me online. While remaining at home all are encouraged to be spiritually united with the church through Masses on Southeast Radio or on RTÉ television (Weekdays at 10.30 a.m. on RTÉ News Now which is accessed on Saorview (channel 21), Sky (521), Virgin Media (200), Eir (517) as well as via the RTÉ player, the RTÉ News Now app and via Rte. ie/news. RTÉ will also continue to broadcast Christian worship every Sunday at 11 a.m. on RTÉ One Television) We are fortunate also that Gorey Parish provides Masses online at stmichaelsgorey.ie and St Aidan’s, Enniscorthy at staidanscathedral.ie This is an occasion for all of us especially in families to pray more intensely for each other and especially for those who have succumbed to the illness. We should pray also for those at the frontlines especially doctors, nurses and medical staff and other carers, including clergy that the Lord will protect them as they place their own wellbeing at risk in the service of all. This is a rapidly evolving situation and we must be adaptable and cooperate to the fullest extent possible with our government as it seeks to guide us. Irresponsibility of any kind is to be discouraged and viewed with great disfavour as it may have potentially lethal effects on the lives of others. We look forward to your co-operation. St Patrick, our patron pray for us. Sincerely, Fr Richard. Adoration: there will be no Adoration this week.

Craanford Parish split-the-pot is suspended for the moment.
