Where are these people now in life?
A FORMER pupil in Enniscorthy Vocational College is trying to make contact with some friends from her school days who participated in a dance show in the school 17 years ago.
Leila Owen is now based in the UK and her married name is Evans.
She was recently going through some old photographs at her home when she came across some school photos that brought back some very happy memories.
Commenting on the photos to this newspaper, she said they relate to a fashion show performance that took place in the Vocational College in 2003.
‘I recall contacting the dance teacher and asking if she would choreograph a dance as part of the college fashion show/performance evening,’ said Leila.
‘I advertised for dancers around the school and fortunately five girls came forward,’ she added.
She’s not sure what year the other girls were in and thinks they may have been in their Leaving Certificate year.
‘I think they were in their last year of school but I can’t be sure,’ she said.
‘We would practice once or twice a week, I think, leading up to the show,’ said Leila.
‘One of the photos shows a dress rehearsal in the school hall,’ she added.
With regard to the routine the girls performed on the night of the fashion show, she said: ‘We danced to ‘Red Dress’ by the Sugababes and it was loads of fun. I think we each got to individually strut our stuff down the catwalk!’
Leila said that, from a personal perspective, she got a great sense of achievement from the event and that was one of the reasons why she enlarged one of the photos when she came across it.
‘I hope that by sharing this photo I don’t embarrass them,’ she said. ‘I just thought it would be nice to see where they are in life and if they are still living in Enniscorthy.’
