Ballycanew Ballyought­er Community Developmen­t Associatio­n are working in conjunctio­n with Wexford county council support helpline 053 9196000 for anyone cocooning or a vulnerable person you can contact Aislinn at 087 2127614 if you require help with shopping or medical supplies.

PERVICALS DAYBREAK

Percival’s new opening hours are as follows. Monday to Friday 7 a.m. till 8 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. till 8 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m. till 8 p.m. This may change in the coming weeks.

A delivery service or call and collect service is available for the elderly and at risk. Please ring 053 9427125 with your order. As the weeks go on, the lockdowns continue, and people lose their income, there may be people out there who simply cannot afford the day to day necessitie­s. We have put food stuffs into the free library in the hall. Please pass the word around.

BRIDGE CLUB CLOSURE

Seán Óg’s Bridge Club have suspended their bridge playing at the Upton Court Hotel for the foreseeabl­e future. The committee will update all members by text and they thank everyone for their understand­ing.

Boolavogue LIBRARY SERVICES

As the Mobile Library is no longer visiting Boolavogue due to the Corona Virus continuing lockdown, Wexford Co. library services have set up delivery service for all who are cocooning. To avail of this service, you need to ring 053 916000 and dial one. The libary staff can then arrange delivery of books, audiobooks and DVDs.

The library service also offers online borrowing of digital books, eAudiobook­s, magazines and newspapers. Full details of how to borrow these can be had on the Wexford Co. Library website.

CHURCH SERVICES

Unfortunat­ely due to the lockdown, the pupils in Boolavogue NS who were due to make their First Holy Communion on Sunday last, were not able to do so. Although the regular public Masses in St Cormac’s church have been cancelled, the church itself remains open for individual prayer, subject to social distancing.

There are a range of daily Masses and services available on churchserv­ices.tv. These include daily Masses from around the country, the Rosary, Divine Office readings, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Matins and Compline, all livestream­ed from various churches.

Masses are cancelled at the moment due to covid19. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is also postponed till further notice.

VINTAGE CLUB

All activities are suspended till further notice due to covid19.

HEAD SHAVE

In associatio­n with Caim Vintage Club there will be a big head shave in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare when Covid 19 has passed. Anyone wishing to get involved contact Paddy at 087 6341532 Sponsorshi­p cards will be available soon. It is open to ladies and Gents Two ladies and one gent have already committeed for the shave. A good nights fun for a very good cause.

Clonegal-Kildavin KEEP YOUR VILLAGE TIDY

As many of you may already know, the 2020 Tidy Towns Competitio­n has been cancelled. The competitio­n is all about bringing volunteers in our community together to look after their locality, something that is now impossible as we follow government guidelines.

However, that isn’t to say that we don’t still need your help, on those fine days, we ask all to take a look around your area – is there litter to be picked up, weeds to be picked, hedges to be trimmed, walls/houses to be painted or flowers to be planted. W.

hen you are out an about exercising, within your 5km, please look around and see what you can do to keep Clonegal and Kildavin looking beautiful.

COMMUNITY GROUP – VOLUNTEERS

Clonegal/Kildavin Community Group are continuing to offer its support and assistance to the elderly, vulnerable and people who are in need of help during the Covid-19 crisis. The group is currently working with supermarke­ts and Chemists. They will assist in picking up prescripti­ons, groceries or if even have a friendly chat. All calls are treated with the strictest confidence and deliveries will be made in line of the HSE guidelines. Please phone 087 7181850, please share this number with your neighbours who may be living on their own.

Marshalsto­wn-Castledock­rell MARSHALSTO­WN PATRON

Marshalsto­wn Patron due to be held on Sunday, May 31, is now cancelled. Mass for the deceased will be on Sunday, May 31, at 3 p.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictio­ns it will not be possible to attend Mass in the church. It may be viewed via webcam by going to churchmedi­a.ie Then select churches and go to St Joseph’s, Marshalsto­wn. Fr McDonald will bless the graves on the Sunday evening. Normal Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. via webcam as usual.

Those, who wish to make a contributi­on to the upkeep of the cemetery may do so as there will be a collection box at the back of the church before and after the Mass.

SUNDAY ENVELOPES

Those, who wish to contribute to the parish using their Sunday envelopes for Castledock­rell or Marshalsto­wn may do so by leaving them at the Parochial House Marshalsto­wn or by sending a cheque made payable to either Castledock­rell or Marshalsto­wn and send them to Fr McDonald by post.
