Gorey Comedy Club returns with fun quiz
Gorey Comedy Club have teamed up with the Ashdown Park Hotel to host a fortnightly online quiz using Zoom and Facebook Live with the first due to start this Thursday, May 28, at 9 p.m. hosted by comedian Karl Spain along with special guests.
Organisers warn that it will not be your average quiz being aptly named the ‘Silly Fun Online Quiz’ but ask that the public be patient as this is the first of its kind for the club.
Entry to take part in the quiz is just €3.50 including booking fee, and a percentage of this will be donated to local charities on your behalf.
Prizes for the winners have been provided by the Ashdown Park Hotel and include an overnight stay at the hotel when restrictions are lifted, and include take-away food and restaurant vouchers which can be used prior to re-opening.
Dara Kiernan of Gorey Comedy Club said that the quiz will be very interactive.
‘For an hour and a half our quiz masters will be joined by some special guests whilst they present a number of rounds of questions and activities to a Zoom audience with answers submitted Live via a secondary device during the event.
‘Profits will be going to charities voted for by the attendees on the night and the Ashdown will also be providing a promo ode for participants of the quiz for extra discounts along the way.
‘It is advised that those who wish to partake, view the quiz via the Zoom event on a PC, laptop, or tablet, and use their smart phone to connect to the answering portal. All instructions will be provided after registration, but it’s important that you use one individual device to submit your individual answers,’ he said.
To take part in the quiz, sign up at www. ticketstop.ie and you will receive a link to the Zoom call page to register.
An email will also be sent from Gorey Comedy Club with clear instructions on attending the event, and the team will also send a reminder to everyone prior to the event.
Ten minutes before the event a special code will be sent to all participants to enter into the answering portal and you will not be able to answer questions unless you have this code.
