OUR LADY OF LOURDES NS

As a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, Our Lady of Lourdes NS, Bunclody is continuing to accept applications for places in our Junior Infant classes for September 2020. Due to Covid-19 the school is currently closed but further information and application forms can be requested by emailing the school at secretarybunclodyns@gmail. com.

Our Lady of Lourdes NS is at the heart of the community in Bunclody and provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all our children to learn in.

We look forward to the return of normal times in September. Stay safe.

BUNCLODY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION SPLIT-THE-POT

Our split-the-pot draw remains suspended, but we hope to be back soon.

In the meantime, thank you to all those who continue to support us, while we stay apart.

Remember, all envelopes entered during this time will be entered in our first draw upon resumption.

FASHION SHOW

We wish to advise that our planned fashion show has been postponed and will now not take place until Spring 2021.

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED

Ger Mackey, the Enniscorthy Municipal District manager, is starting a new initiative to try to freshen up the towns and villages under the banner ‘Enniscorthy District Community Support’ in the aftermath of the Covid-19 lockdown.

The County Council will supply paint, brushes, PPE and Covid-19 safety induction training to people who volunteer to carry out this type of work in Bunclody town.

Bunclody Tidy Towns has drawn up a list of work that needs doing in the public realm and this may give people the opportunity to safely help out in the local area while also getting out of the house for a few hours.

Volunteers will be asked to paint public seating and bins; weed and plant flower beds and planters and carry out a general ‘ tidy up’ so we can all experience our town looking at its best for the summer.

If you are interested in volunteering to help, please contact Barbara-Anne Murphy on 087 6736966 or Teresa or Lucy at Bunclody Tidy Towns.

Your help with this project will be greatly appreciated.

BUNCLODY SWIMMING POOL

Bunclody Swimming Pool Committee has made the difficult decision not to open the pool this summer for the first time in our 49-year history. We realise this will be a huge loss to the community but feel it is the responsible course of action.

It is agreed that the tennis courts and playground will also remain closed till further notice for the same reasons.
