New app will help reserve tables at pubs
FOR a while at least, the Irish pub will be a changed place when they finally re-open their doors following Covid-19. Three Wexford business men are hoping to aid pubs in their efforts to re-open and comply with Covid restrictions by launching a brand new app.
‘Beermat’ is a new web app which allows customers to reserve tables in pubs and bars using any internet connected device. Developed by web and graphic designer Kieran Daly alongside publican Liam Sinnott and Andy Doyle, the main aim of the app is to help publicans to comply with government restrictions and limit the spread of Covid-19.
Creative Director at his own Kieran Daly Design Studio, Kieran has overseen all the design, development and negotiation of any technical issues. With their vast experience Andy, who currently works as a sales and operations manager, and Liam, who has recently taken over a second pub in Rosslare Strand, provided all of the insight of what publicans will require to meet changed standards as we embrace a new normal in the hospitality sector.
The trio are promising a simple ‘click and reserve’ system, which operates with a ‘onetime only’ payment with no recurring fees or charges. Each pub will be provided with a unique webapp address with bespoke branding to allow customers to interact with them differently via their phones.
‘We have seen first-hand how publicans’ livelihoods have been severely impacted by the Covid-19 crisis,’ said Kieran. ‘ They believe that it is critical that our establishments can re-open to customers as soon as possible to protect the sector and our thousands of employees from further financial turmoil. To facilitate this, publicans must be proactive in providing workable solutions to social distancing requirements. The beermat app provides a socially responsible method for publicans to safely re-open.’
