Gorey.pl is now calling on all local sketch artists

-

GOREY POLISH cultural association invites you to take part in a new black and white sketching competition, with the winning sketch to be printed on to eco-friendly canvas bags or potentially other souvenirs.

A judging panel will assess the best sketch of Gorey’s landmarks and historical places, such as Gorey Market House or the 1798 Monument, and the aim is to promote Gorey and the district as a unique tourist destination.

The competition is now open, and closes on the June 25 and organisers say that the winning sketch will capture the key message ‘Gorey and Gorey area landmarks’ and will include the artist’s name.

Sketches cannot advertise commercial buildings, and the contest is open to any one of any age group in the local area.

Contestants may submit multiple entries, and all entries must be the work of one person only.

Polish Association members and their family cannot take a part in this competition, but it is opened that profit from the selling of the bags will help to fund open cultural events in the near future.

The winner’s sketch will be printed in the Gorey Guardian newspaper and promoted on social media and they will also receive five eco-friendly canvas bags and a goodie bag.

The winner will be contacted directly on June 27, with the news being announced on the website www.gorey. pl as well as social media sites like Facebook and Instagram.

To submit your entry to Gorey.pl, email contact@gorey.pl and include your art, full name, age, town, phone number and how you would like to sign your art, whether with your own name or a pseudonym. Your entry must be your own work, and judges ask that your entry is an image of the JPG type, landscape or portrait orientation, presented on A4 paper with dimensions of 297mm x 210mm, equivalent to 3500pixel x 2400pixel and total volume of no more than 5MB.

The winner will have to make the original sketch available for Gorey.pl on request, for professional scanning.

The sketching design for this competition cannot give rise to any claim for financial compensation and the award-winning works will become the property of the Gorey.pl - Polish Cultural Association from the date they are received.
