Motorists convicted

A STRING of motorists lost their licences as motor insurance conviction­s were recorded at Wexford District Court:

John Power ( 60), Park, Duncormick, showed the garda who stopped him at Wellington­bridge on July 19 last a disc from another vehicle and then admitted he had no cover fine € 400 and a two year ban.

Alison Sinnott ( 30), 8 Lambert Place, Wexford, was convicted in her absence of an offence committed at Mill Road on September 5 last fine € 400 and a two year ban.

Noreen Mpofu ( 36), 107 Hazelwood, Bridgetown, came to the attention of gardaí when she pulled up short of a checkpoint at Rathmacnee Little, Killinick, on the afternoon of September 10. It turned out that she could not have been insured as she stood disqualifi­ed after racking up penalty points – € 400 fine and a four year ban.

Marta Kaluzny, 45 Abbey Street, Wexford, failed to produce evidence of cover after being asked by a garda to do so on November 24 fine €400 and a two year ban.

Kelly Quinn ( 31), 32 Shanna Court, Coolcotts was stopped while driving ared Volkswagen hatchback in Barntown on September 14 last. She admitted immediatel­y that she had no valid insurance and the VW was seized fine € 400 and a two year ban.

Rafal Karczewski ( 45), 1 Whiterock Close, Wexford, failed to produce valid insurance documents after he was found driving an Opel Vectra near to his home on July 9 last year – fine € 400 and a two year ban.

Frank Ney ( 58), Meadow Vale, Ballybeg Great, Screen, had solicitor Yvonne Dunne in court to offer plea of guilty in his absence.

He admitted an offence as the rider of an uninsured motor- bike in Screen on August 1 last year – fine € 400 and a two year ban.
