KILRUSH ICA
Kilrush ICA guild held their annual general meeting on Tuesday, June 7, in Ballyroebuck Hall. The president, Monica Power welcomes Marie Foley, CDA Wexford Federation to the meeting. The annual Report on the Guild’s activities and events was given by the secretary and she thanked outgoing officers for their assistance and co-operation throughout the year. The following officers were elected to serve for the coming year: president, Kit Kennedy; Vice-president, Nuala Ryan; secretary, Monica Power; treasurer, May Levingstone; PRO., Monica Power. The competition for the ‘Best display of Wildflowers’ was won by Josie Francis and Alice O’Neill. As this was the last meeting before the summer recess, the president wished everyone well. The next meeting will take place in Ballyroebuck Hall on Tuesday, September 6, 2005.
BUNCLODY ICA
Bunclody ICA guild held their usual monthly meeting on Monday, June 13, in Bunclody Vocational College. The president, Maureen Behan, presided and there were 14 members in attendance. Denis Kinsella, Ferns gave a very interesting talk on ‘Back Pain and MBT Shoes’. The competition was won by Maureen Behan and Annette Toomey won the raffle.
POETRY WINNERS
Three pupils from Kilmyshall National School will have their Poems published in a new book called ‘Rhyme Lines’ which will be launched by children’s author and Enniscorthy native Gerald Whelan this evening, Wednesday, June 29, in the Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorthy. Katie McGannon (sixth class), Amy Stretch (fifth class) and Kelly Anne McGannon (fourth class) will each have their Easter poems published in the book and be presented with a special memento, as well as a copy of the book to mark this wonderful achievement. Congratulations and well done to all three!
