End of school
Is your son or daughter finishing their primary school education this year?
If they are, it means that, unfortunately, they won’t be able to have their normal graduation day and won’t have the opportunity to say goodbye to their schoolmates and teachers in the usual way.
However, we want to give them that chance so if your child is in sixth class and about to make the big leap to secondary school why not send us in a photo of him or her with a little message to their friends and teacher to say goodbye.
Just include the child’s name, what school they attend, and the brief message, and email them to schoolswexford@peoplenews.ie or contact brendan.keane@peoplenews.ie.
Walking track
The GAA walking track in Monageer has now reopened and is available to use between 10 a.m. and midday each weekday.
However, the first hour, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., is reserved for those who have been cocooning.
All walkers are asked to walk in a clockwise direction and groups should not be composed of more than four people.
Entry to the track is through the small gate and hand sanitisers are available.

The blessing of the graves in Caim will take place this coming Sunday, June 28.

Parishioners in Ballindaggin are asked to note there has been a change to the online location to access the mass webcam.
It’s now available to access at www.churchmedia.ie where St Colman’s Church can be selected from the dropdown menu.
Parishioners who are in a position to maintain their weekly parish envelope contribution can do so electronically through the Ferns diocesan website.
The ongoing support of parishioners is greatly appreciated.
Churches opening
Churches in the Ferns diocese will be reopening on Monday, June 29, in line with the roadmap produced by the Government under HSE guidance.
However, parishioners throughout the diocese are asked to be mindful of all social distancing guidelines.
According to the first draft of Irish Bishops’ Regulations certain conditions will have to be adhered to in each church including: competent parishioners will be needed to act as stewards; hand sanitation stations will be in place as parishioners enter the church; the number of parishioners allowed into the church for mass will be limited; seating in the church will be controlled for social distancing; older and more vulnerable people will be advised to remain at home and listen to mass on the radio or view it on the webcam; no missalettes will be available and communion will be given in the hand only with parishioners expected to approach the alter in single file and two metres apart.
Parishioners will also be able to go to mass on any day of the week so avoid too many people attending at weekends.
Volunteers wanted
Volunteers are required to help with preparing the church in Ballymurn for reopening for mass following the lockdown.
If you are interested please call or text Fr Jim on 087 2119151.
Concern over littering
There is concern at the moment in the Oulart area about the untidy state of the area where the recycling bins are located in the village.
They are situated adjacent to the cemetery, opposite Scoil Mochua.
If people arrive at the bins and they are full they are kindly asked to bring their recycling home with them and return when the bins have been emptied.
Under no circumstances should items be left on the ground beside the bins. The situation is being monitored at the moment.
Trócaire donations
The charity organisation, Trócaire, is encouraging people to now return their donations.
In Oylegate parishioners are asked to return their donations in an envelope to the parochial house on Wednesdays only.
Alternatively, donations can also be returned to Trócaire Maynooth, County Kildare, or online through www.trocaire.org.
The support of people throughout the parish and wider county is greatly appreciated.
