2020 has brought many challenges for Leaving Certificate students and the wider community. As people may now be considering their options due to changes in personal circumstances or a desire to stay closer to home for the moment, we can confidently recommend our 1 year full-time PLC courses that are fully grant supported and excellent preparation for third level education or employment.
Whether you have just completed second level education or are an adult who would like to return to education, our PLC colleges should have a course to suit you. The courses are fulltime and last for one year.
Preparation for Third Level
Need another year to save for college? You could defer your CAO place and take any Level 5 course. Many of our graduates who have gone on to third level have said that they felt better prepared and more confident when they started their college course compared to students who had gone directly from school. They report that their knowledge and skills in relation to working independently, meeting deadlines and compiling assignments and projects really stood to them at college. Our courses could be just the stepping stone you need, if you haven’t decided on your third level options.
Return to Education
For some of you, the thought of facing classrooms, teachers and exams may seem daunting. Don’t let your anxiety stop you from improving your confidence and chances of employment. You will be supported by friendly, professional staff, who know and understand your family commitments and they will help you to overcome any fears you may have. Projects and assessments for most subjects take place throughout the year so you take control of your own learning and progression throughout the course. Your final grade does not depend on one exam.
When you have successfully completed your course you will be able to continue with further education, or take up employment. Whatever you choose to do, be assured that the skills and knowledge you have achieved during a PLC course will be of great benefit.
