Twice drove off without paying

-

Two ‘drive offs’ from the same filling station in the New Ross area earned theft convictions for John Codd (38) of 15 Riverwood in Enniscorthy.

The District Court was told how Codd twice visited the filling station at Ballinaboola in September of 2018, helping himself to a total of €90 worth of fuel.

The judge was given an assurance that Codd was now clean of heroin after coming through rehab and that he had €100 in court ready to hand over.

The compensation payment was accepted and the accused then had the bill trebled as he was fined €100 each for the two offences, with six months allowed for payment.
