Spent over €6,600 on a stolen credit card
THE theft of a credit card led to misappropriation of more than €6,000 it was alleged in the District Court.
Defendant 21-year-old Marko Dudaric, 49 High Street Wexford, stood accused of taking the card belonging to Michael Hayes in July of last year.
According to the prosecution, it was then used on at least 30 occasions in the two months following.
The alleged result was that Dudaric fraudulently benefitted to the tune of €6,622.
Charges covered transactions not only in Wexford but also in counties Cork, Waterford, Wicklow and Dublin.
The defendant was charged with passing the card at banks as well as various businesses, which included an off-licence, a dental surgery and a Wexford casino.
The Director of Public Prosecutions recommended disposal of the matter in the District Court.
However, Judge Brian O’Shea disagreed and referred the matter back to the DPP for consent to trial in the Circuit Court.
The matter stands adjourned to July 28, with Dudaric freed on bail in the meantime.
