Community involvement in road works
A LOT of work is being done in relation to the Community Involvement Scheme in the Enniscorthy area according to officials in Wexford County Council.
At this month’s meeting of Enniscorthy Municipal District, Area Roads Engineer Neil Dempsey said Enniscorthy received approval, to the value of €209,823, for three roads under the scheme, over the next two years. The roads are the L20191-1 at Cullentragh (700 metres); the L20091-1 between Ballyhamilton and Knockduff (470m) and the L600-1 at Knockduff, Bree (1,000m).
Mr Dempsey said the work at Ballyhamilton/Knockduff ‘ look like it will go ahead’.
‘ They are putting a lot of work into it,’ he said. ‘It’s a concrete road.’
With regard to the work in Knockduff, Bree, Mr Dempsey said: ‘I have to speak to residents to see how we will move that one forward.’
