CHURCH NOTES

Resumption of Public Masses: Weekend public Masses will resume in Oylegate and Glenbrien Churches on July 4 and five at the usual times. Due to Covid-19 restrictio­ns, a large section of the seating will be closed off.

In the available open seats people from the same household/family should sit together. If from different households only two people can sit in a seat to maintain safe distance. Holy communion will be distribute­d at the end of Mass. It may not be possible to seat everyone at a given Mass. The Mass will be carried outside on the speakers.

People are advised to sanitise their hands upon entering and leaving the church. If you are feeling unwell or have an underlying condition you are advised not to attend Mass at this time. People are encouraged to return Parish Envelopes and Trócaire donations at Masses. There will be baskets for this purpose as the usual method of collecting cannot take place.

Parish office: The parish office will reopen on Monday, July 13, Patrons in Oylegate and Glenbrien: Given the current restrictio­ns due to Covid-19 around outdoor Mass gatherings, it is not possible to hold patrons at this time. Trócaire Lenten Donations: Trócaire are encouragin­g people to now return their donations. You can return your donations in an envelope in note form please to the parochial house on Wednesdays only. Alternativ­ely, you can send your donation to Trocaire, Maynooth, County Kildare or go online at trocaire.org. Thanks for your support.

GAA CLUB NOTES

The GAA club are delighted to announce that our applicatio­n to leader for funding to light the walk track was successful, contracts will be signed in the coming weeks and the work will then be completed. This means the track will be available through the winter months for the community. We again thank everyone who supports our developmen­t draw as this support enables us to continue to develop our amenities.
