PARISH NEWS

Cloughbawn parish and Poulpeasty curacy will resume public Masses within restrictions set by the HSE on Monday, June 29, at 9.30 a.m. in Cloughbawn. On the weekend of July 4 and 5, we will have the opportunity to gather again to celebrate Sundat Eucharist in our parish churches.

However, it is important to note that due to current public health advice, regarding physical distance, the maximum number of people who can be accommodated for the Liturgy, will be much reduced. Therefore, with many seats closed off, it will only be possible to allow one person to sit at each end of each free row, while permitting those of the same household to sit together in the one seat.

It is also important that people who are vulnerable or unwell should stay at home and if possible participate via social media, television or radio. The same applie to those that have been in contact with someone who has the virus in accordance with public health advice.

Annual Patron – Due to government restrictions the annual patron will not be opened to the public this year. Fr Cushen will bless the graves before Mass on July 12, which also will be streamed live on social media. People are free to visit the graves of their loved ones at any point on the patron weekends, ensuring to practice safe social distancing to keep themselves and others.

Trócaire Boxes – Due to the Coronavirus this year the money which people collected was never asked for because of the lockdown of the church. Some people have given directly to Trócaire and some have left money at the priest’s house. If you have ot yet returned your offering, I would ask you to leave it at the priest’s house before or after Mass over the next two weeks.
