CHURCH NOTES

Please note the webcam address for Ballindaggin has changed to churchmedia.ie Select Churches and then St Colman’s Church from the drop down menu.

Fr Fegan will bless the graves in Ballindaggin before 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 21, and 10 a.m. patron Mass will be broadcast on the webcam. People are free to visit the graves of their loved ones at any point that weekend ensuring to practice safe social distancing to keep themselves safe. The following weekend on Sunday, June 28, Fr Fegan will bless the graves in Caim before Mass and the 10 a.m. Patron Mass will be broadcast on the webcam.

Churches will reopen on Monday, June 29, in line with the roadmap produced by the Government and under HSE guidelines more to follow in the coming weeks.

On the weekend of July 4 and five we will have the opportunity to gather again for the celebration of Holy Mass in our Parish Churches at the same times as pre-lockdown. However, it is important to know that due to current public health advice regarding physical distance the maximum number of people who can be accommodated for any liturgy will be much reduced.

It is also very important that people who are vulnerable or unwell, should stay at home, and if possible participate, as now, via webcam, social media, television, or radio. The same applies to those who have been in recent contact with someone who has the virus, in accordance with public health advice.

The following should be noted on return to public mass. (1) On entry to church adhere to physical distance. (2) Please use hand sanitizer in porch on entry and exit. (3) Stewards will be on hand to direct people to seating. (4) The church must be filled from the top only. (5) Please remain seated for mass. (6) Holy communion will be distributed after mass. (7) Stewards will direct people on exit. (8) Please observe physical distance guidance outside church.

The return to public worship, even gradually, will be a source of great joy and hope to our parish communities. Public health considerations will, however, require the above adjustments to the way we celebrate our liturgies. Every effort will be made to support active participation and prayerful and joyful celebration. Looking forward to celebrating with you.
