Memories of Nicola will shine bright forever

-

IT is with deep sadness that the family of Nicola Kirwan née Tobin (41), late of Rockview, Bellefield, announce her passing, which occurred on May 11.

Nicola is survived by her husband Patrick, daughter Chloe, son Jack, father James, mother Mary, sister Hazel, brother Keith, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Sadly Nicola succumbed to cancer in recent years. She fought with courageous dignity but unfortunately this was to be her final battle.

Nicola never ceased to confront her challenges.

A native of Moneyheer, Davidstown, Nicola attended Davidstown National School before moving on to Enniscorthy Vocational College to complete her education.

Nicola met Patrick in 1998 and they got married in 2005. They were rewarded with 15 years of happiness and these memories will forever be cherished by her loving husband.

Nicola lived for her children and was a devoted mother to Chloe and Jack, whom she worshipped and was ever so proud to watch them grow and develop over the years. Her legacy will live on through them.

Nicola enjoyed gardening and decorating. She also enjoyed photography and every wall of her home displays family memories that will be forever preserved. Nicola loved puzzles and liked spending spare time doing crosswords and problem solving games like Sudoku.

She enjoyed travel and had visited many of Ireland’s beauty spots such as the Ring of Kerry and further afield to places such as Germany, Portugal and Spain.

Nicola worked for 21 years in Mahady Breen’s. She loved her job and greeted people with a smile, and was always helpful and courteous to all who entered the store.

She always had an open door to family and friends and loved to share problems and a laugh over a cup a tea.

Nicola was laid to rest in Davidstown on May 13 following a family service.

Her light may have been extinguished early but her memory will forever shine bright. Ar dheis dé go raibh a anam dílis.

The Kirwan and Tobin families would like to extend their gratitude to everyone for their support and well wishes since Nicola’s passing.

The families would like to give a special thank you to Paul Browne and Browne’s Funeral Home for helping with the funeral arrangements and ensuring that Nicola’s final journey was a dignified one.

They would like to acknowledge all the hard work and care provided by the nurses, doctors, care workers and specialists who assisted Nicola throughout her illness and in her final days and hours, especially in light of the restrictions which were in place during the recent pandemic.

The families would like to thank Fr Nolan of Davidstown Parochial House for his kindness, understanding and guidance in arranging Nicola’s funeral during the pandemic.

And finally they would like to pay gratitude to all the family and friends for their continued support to Patrick, Chloe and Jack throughout Nicola’s illness and in the past few weeks, it was very much appreciated.
