Finn is first customer back at Bunclody barbers

-

ALTHOUGH bookings for appointments in The Urban Barbers were coming in thick and fast, with hirsute gents throughout Bunclody and beyond desperate to shed their overgrown locks, owner Darren Ennis made sure there was space for one very important customer on the day he reopened.

After four months of being shut, the honour of being the first customer post-lockdown went to four-year-old Finn Hudson.

And according to mam, Noeleen, this was one haircut which couldn’t come soon enough.

‘Finn was the first customer back last Monday morning. Darren phoned us and said they had a space available,’ said Noeleen.

‘Finn’s hair was wild; it had gone really long. He’s one of those boys whose hair grows really quickly – he’s usually in there every six weeks.’

Noeleen added that Darren and his staff always take good care of her son, doing everything they can to ensure he is comfortable and relaxed during his regular visits.

‘Darren Ennis is great with Finn. He is very considerate of Finn’s additional needs and is always willing to go the extra mile for him, as are all the staff there. Nothing’s ever a problem and Finn is looked after really well.’

Describing her son as a ‘great little boy, with a lovely personality, and an overall joy to be around’, Noeleen said she and Finn, along with husband Colm and their daughter Evie, had enjoyed a relatively uneventful lockdown.

‘It has been okay for us. Myself and my husband were both off, so we spent time with the children.

‘We said we’d make the most of it and enjoyed the nice weather in the garden,’ said Noeleen.
