MASS RETURNS
Many people were delighted to be able to attend Mass in the parish churches last weekend under strict government guidelines with distancing in the church, hand sanitising on entry and exit etc. However, older people and people cocooning are not yet obliged to attend Mass and can continue to hear Mass via webcam from Ballindaggin Church. Note it will now be at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening and 11.30 a.m. on Sundays and 9.30 a.m. on Thursdays. You can also hear Mass on South East Radio or T.V. Weekday Mass in Kiltealy is on Friday at 9.30 a.m.
KILTEALY GRADUATION
Fourteen pupils from sixth class Kiltealy NS celebrated their graduation recently, The group is wished well as they move on second level.
DUFFRY ROVERS NEWS
At a recent meeting of Duffry Rovers GAA club it was decided to go ahead with the annual mountain walk which will take place on Saturday, August 22, leaving Kiltealy village via Mt. Leinster, a distance of 15-20 Km, returning to the village in afternoon for refreshments. Participants must be over 18 years of age. €50 sponsorship cards are now available from club members, if interested in taking part please register as soon as possible and before August 8 For further information contact Eugene O’Connor at 087 2492771 or Des Murphy at 087 6321414.
The walking track at Coolree has been reopened in accordance with phase two of government easing of restrictions. Timings are as follows: 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. will be for the eldery and those cocooning and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. is for everyone else. Please adhere to government restrictions when using this facility.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation will take place in Ballindaggin Church for pupils of Ballindaggin NS on Tuesday, July 21, Confirmation will take place in Kiltealy Church on Wednesday, July 22, for pupils of Kiltealy N.S. Fifth class at 11 a.m. and sixth class at 2 p.m. in order to facilitate social distancing.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
First Holy Communion will take place in Kiltealy Church on July 25 and in Ballindaggin Church on August 8 the children and their parents and teachers are looking forward to the occasion after a long wait due to the Covid lockdown.
MEMORIALS OF THE DEAD
An updated book ‘Memorials of the Dead’ is being compiled for Kiltealy as it is almost 30 years since the previous book was published. Anyone wishing to add details to this new addition concerning family interred in either burial grounds or if they have old memory cards they would like shown in this publication, please contact Fr Jim Fegan at 087 2395087.
