Mad Mash Bullet delivers brilliant performance in stake final

-

THE FEATURE event at Enniscorthy greyhound track - the Autumn Unraced Stake final on Monday - saw a brilliant performance from favourite Mad Mash Bullet as he powered to a clearcut victory in a very fast time of 28.69 -0.20 slow.

What looked a tricky draw on previous evidence turned out not to be so as he saved his best break for this final, going up a length and a half better than previous nights.

The final was as good as over as he powered away from the field down the back and raced home a clearcut eight and a half lengths ahead of his nearest market rival, Grancore Jetzer, who ran on well after missing the break and came through for second.

He would have been somewhat closer had he managed to break, but there was no mistaking the winner’s brilliance on the night.

Trainer Peter Cronin has big plans for

Mad Mash as a crack at the upcoming Irish St. Leger in Limerick may well be on the cards.

Adamstown owner Michael Galway enjoyed two nice winners in the last races on both nights. His Misterin Brae took race eight on Monday over the 575 yards trip, and then Misterin Roddick won on Thursday.

Another owner to double up was George Roche as his charges took races two and four on Thursday.

Race two winner Strictly Flow was most impressive when racing home by six lengths in a good 29.04 -0.20 slow.

The first race on Thursday saw Right So Belle continue on her winning ways, this time racing to a two-length victory over Kingsisland Kid who put it up to her all the way but was two lengths shy at the line in a best of the night 28.84 -0.20 slow. Belle has won three of her last four starts and is clearly in top form.

Arguably the performance of the night came in race three as Cushie Spirit came from the clouds after getting early bothe.

Tracking well off the last bend, he finished strongly to get up in the shadow of the line to catch long-time leader Airplane Denny in a good 29.11 -0.20 slow. Considering where he was positioned off the second bend, the time was very good.

The runner-up’s owner had better luck in race seven as his runner, Out The Way, was out and gone from trap rise and was always in control to run out a snug winner in a good 29.03 -0.20 slow.
