Enniscorthy hockey news

-

DUE TO the current levels of restrictions in the county and the rise of Covid-19 cases nationally, the tough decision has been taken to cancel Alan Smith’s Halloween hockey camp.

The health and safety of camp participants is of the utmost importance, and it is unfortunately not feasible to hold the camp in the current climate.

It also looks like we will have to wait a little while longer before our teams can fulfill fixtures in our adult and youth sections.

Official notification from Hockey Ireland this week in light of added restrictions will see games at all levels postponed until further notice.

Training is still continuing in the Astro Active Centre under the strict supervision of club Covid-19 officers and co-ordinators until the time comes for us to finally line out in purple again.

This also, unfortunately, means that our girls who were selected for both the Under-16 and the Under-18 South-East qquads for the inter-provincial competitions will not be playing for the foreseeable future, as it has been postponed.

We know the girls are incredibly disappointed but we have no doubt that once the green light is given for inter-pros to go ahead, they will represent Enniscorthy with pride on the pitch.

As part of our club sponsor spotlight series, this week we would like to give a huge thank you to Whizzy Internet who have sponsored a sign for the club at the Astro Active Centre.

If you would like to sponsor a sign for the club, please email ehcsigns@gmail.com.
