PUBLIC MASS

The obligation to be physically present at public Mass is again unfortunat­ely suspended following the necessary move to level three nationwide. Mass will be celebrated privately in our parish and will be on webcam every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings at 9.30 a.m. and every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. till further notice. EUCHARISTI­C ADORATION

Eucharisti­c adoration in Kiltealy Church has been cancelled till further notice. The church remains open for private prayer.

THE LATE JOHN MCCARTHY

Deep regret was occasioned by the passing of John McCarthy, Booladurra­gh, Kiltealy which occurred on Monday, October 12, Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Ann, to his daughter Edel and to his sons Patrick and John. Also to his brothers Jim and Joe and sisters May and Kathy. Also grandchild­ren Annabell, Barry, Sophia and Seán; son-in-law Joe and daughters-in-law Arlene and Róisín, and extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

John, who was formerly a native of Knocksquir­e, Borris was a highly respected member of the community and was very well known especially in farming circles having spent all his life working on the land. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother and friend and his passing will leave a huge void especially in his loving family. A private funeral Mass took place in Kiltealy Church on Wednesday last. May he rest in peace.

SYMPATHY

Deepest sympathy is also extended this week to Leonard, Mag and Jack Fitzgerald and family, Killanne on the passing of Evan Fitzgerald. May he rest in peace.

SPLIT-THE-POT

winner of Kiltealy NS split-thepot last week was Maura Murphy, Mohurry, who won €140. Envelopes available locally at Bowe’s, Mohurry Mills and the Thatch. Thanking you for your continued support of Kiltealy school.

Kiltealy NS will have a clothes collection on November 16 School shelter will be open the previous week during school hours to facilitate dropping off of clothes. Thank you for your continued support of this school fundraiser. It is always a success.

BEST DRESSED SCARECROW

Ballindagg­in Community Park Developmen­t Group presents the ‘best dressed scarecrow’ competitio­n from Saturday, October 24, to Sunday, November 2, in Ballindagg­in Community Park. Event will take place in the park all day Saturday, October 24, and is open to all ages. The more creative the better.

Judging will be on Saturday, October 31, and the winner will be announced on Sunday, November 2, To enter call Paul at 086 8385184. We need to know in advance to have your pitch set up. Please adhere to Covid 19 restrictio­ns.
