Just Farmers hosting information night

-

Just Farmers are hosting a night at Riverside Park Hotel Enniscorthy on Wednesday, May 8, where experts will come together to discuss the future of the agricultural sector.

Experts, Eddie Burgess from Teagasc Specialist on Agricultural Catchments program (ACP Cattle & climate change - past, present and future) and Nadaline Webster, Author of ‘Flawed figures & Fragile futures’ as well as business consultant, farmer and founder of Carbon Removals Action Group will speak on the night.

“In recent years Irish farmers have been subjected to severe, unjust and uninformed criticism. Regulation, particularly around the issues of GHG emissions, water quality, nitrates derogation limits and more have been driven by a political capitulation to a false and unscientific narrative around EU food production. This is particularly so in Ireland.”

“At this critical juncture for Irish farming it is vital that we are aware of the truth. The truth is very different to the common narrative. Only once we understand the truth around this can we successfully promote policy that reflects the reality of Irish food production. Our farms produce internationally acclaimed nutritious food using one of the most sustainable, climate friendly and family based systems on the planet. For all our sakes we need to keep it that way,” said Kevin Murphy of Just Farmers.

The event will start at 8p.m.
