Don’t forget to keep Sunday, August 21, free for the annual Johnstown/Coolgreany Gyymkhana, which will take place in Coolgreany. SUMMER FUN

St Mogue’s Community Childcare in Inch are holding summer camps for 4-8 year-olds from July 11 to July 15. July 18 to July 22 or July 25 to July 25 to July 29 from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Cost is €60 per child. Activities will include indoor and outdoor games, themed activities, baking, weaving, junk couture and many more.

The whist drive takes place every Thursday evening in the Riverchape­l Community Centre at 8.30 p.m. sharp and all are made most welcome.

During July and August there is a weekly service in the Ardamine Union churches at the following times: Monamolin 9 a.m.; Ardamine 10.15 a.m.; Kiltennel 10.15 a.m.; Kilmuckrid­ge 10.15 a.m. Clonevan 11.30 a.m.; Kilnamanag­h 11.45 a.m. However, on Sunday, July 24, instead of the 9 a.m. service, Summer Praise, a service of favourite hymns will be held at 7.30 p.m. in Monamolin followed by tea in the Community Centre. HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The next meeting is on Thursday, July 14, at Kilnenor Cemetery at 8 p.m. There will be a discussion on the planting of new hedging to replace the trees that have been removed. It is hoped to have a talk on history of the graveyard on the night. Membership is now due for the coming year.

Great weather and numbers for last week’s Cúl Camp. No problem getting kids to sleep every night. Remember, there is a second camp from August 8 to August 12th. This week’s fixtures inc: Mon 11th Junior ladies in Kilanerin. Also under-12 boys in Gorey at 7.30 p.m. Tue 12th has under-12 camogie in Kilanerin and under-18 hurling in the Rock v Kilrush. Wed 13th has the Ladies v Adamstown in Kilanerin. Fri 15th has the under-10 boys in Craanford at 7 p.m. Sat 16th Adult hurlers play St James Championsh­ip in Farmleigh at 3.30 p.m.

Team of the week goes to the under-18 footballer­s who, with a diminished panel, overcame Hollow Rovers on a scoreline of 6-7 to 6-6. Nail biting stuff. There were other good wins for the under-12 boys, and under-16 hurlers in particular.

There was no jackpot winner in the lottery of the fourth. There were two match-three winners. The numbers were 2, eight,10, 27. The next draw takes place in Noels on Monday the 18th. The jackpot is now at 4€400.
