Exhibitions among plenty on offer
AS part of the Market House Festival there is a huge amount of exhibitions on around the town.
In Gorey library Locorum which is presented by Different Stokes features the work of five local Gorey artists, four painters and a printmaker. The artists involved are Amanda Doran, Mary Claire Kehoe, Stephen Nolan, Patrick Redmond and Martin Redmond.
The opening reception of the exhibition takes place this Thursday night, July 28, at 7pm in the library. The exhibition will run as part of the festival until August 11.
Art Box at 7, Esmonde Street will feature the works of Eoin O’Connor while woodturner Robert O’Connor will showcase his works at his studio on the Arklow Road in Gorey.
Peripheries at Gorey School of Art has a number of exhibitions, talks and workshops. The exhibitions feature the works of Elaine Byrne, Ulrich Vogl, Oisin Byrne and Patrick Hough while the talks will be given by Sarat Marahaj, James Merrigan as well as a public artist discussion.
The workshops will be given by Natalie Doyle ( mindfulness), Richard Carr ( sound art) and Emma Roche ( one day sculpture).
Gorey Art Circle exhibition runs until August 7 at the Market House runs daily from 11am until 5pm and on Sundays from 2pm until 5pm. This year the chosen charity is Courtown Seal Sanctuary.
At 6 Main Street, Go- rey photographer Denis O’Connor will host an exhibition from July 29 until August 1. The black and white photo exhibition is entitled Flashback Gorey. It is open on Friday from 11am until 7.30pm, on Saturday from 11am until 7.30pm, on Sunday from 11am until 7pm and on Bank Holiday Monday from 12 until 6pm.
Seven Days of Love Gorey is a exhibition of photographs of North Wexford and will run at Market House Design until July 31.
Gorey Creative Craft and Art Group will host a craft fair at Gorey Shopping Centre on Saturday from 11am until 5pm. This fair also includes a vintage section.
Gorey Photographic Club will host its annual exhibition in Gorey Library with the exhibition opening on Thursday.
