WEXFORD County Council is running free film-making summer camps for young people from 13 to 19 years this August. The ‘Make a Movie.’ fiveday courses will cover scriptwriting, camera operation, sound recording, acting for screen and editing.

The courses take place from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Gorey Library from August 8 to August 12, and in the Presentation Centre, Enniscorthy, from August 22 to August 26. Places are limited. To book, email filmprojectbookings@gmail.com or call 083 4304067. continue.

Art classes are held on Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Christ Church Old School.

The South East Gathering is in the Ashdown Park Hotel on Wednesday, August 17, and the meal is at 1 p.m. The cost is €17, including a four course meal.

The Chamber Philharmonia gives around 300 concerts per year around the globe, travelling as far as New Zealand, Australia, Spain, the UK, and Ireland. day. In addition to the playground equipment already in situ there will be a bouncing castle for children. The event is being run in memory of the late Jim Doran of Munny and all proceeds will go to Pieta House. All are welcome to attend.
