TUESDAY, AUGUST 2

The Irish Street Arts, Circus ad Spectacle Network will pay a visit to Enniscorth­y for a two-day (Tuesday and Wednesday) master class in physical theatre and mask techniques with David Poznanter and Peter Sweet of Boom Circus just days before they set to wow the crowds at the Irish premier of their street show ‘Boom’ at Waterford Spraoi. Participan­ts will learn about spatial awareness, fixed points and articulati­on, mask technique and contact and clarity in theatrical mask improvisat­ion. Cost is €50 for members and €100 for non-members. From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

SEISIÚN IN BOOLAVOGUE

Come along to the Fr Murphy Centre, Boolavogue, tomorrow night, Wednesday, August 3 for a brilliant Seisiúin. The show gets under way around 9 p.m. and everyone is welcome.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 5, TO SUNDAY, AUGUST 7 SAND SCULPTING FESTIVAL

Duncannon’s annual Sand Sculpting Festival will this year take place from Friday, August 5, through to Sunday, August 7.

Duncannon Beach has hosted the festival for over 25 years now which revolves around profession­al sand sculptures which are created every year with a different theme (nominal charge applies to see the sculptures). The Amateur Sand Sculpting Competitio­n is open to all to enter with no age restrictio­ns.

In addition, visitors can enjoy the spectacula­r firework display over the bay of Duncannon, open air music and open air street entertainm­ent – all of which are free.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 4 QUAYSIDE SESSIONS

On the first Thursday of every month, Bean n’Berry in Wexford brings its popular open mic night to the cafe. Expect some of the best talent from across the county. Admission is free and food and drink will be available. 8.30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

CONCERT

Chamber Philharmon­ia Cologne will give their annual concert at Christ Church, Gorey, at 8 p.m. Tick- ets available from Gorey Tourist Office or on the door.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 5 BALLY G BASH

The Bally G Bash is set to rock the Ballygarre­tt GAA complex on Friday, August 5. Doors open at 8 p.m. Bands playing at the event include: Haywire, Wild Turkeys, Los Wexicanos; and Thunderbir­d. AUGUST DANCE

The August dance will be held in Camross Ballroom on Friday, August 5, with music by Patricia and Brendan Lee. Admission is €8 including the tea, with dancing from 10 p.m. to midnight.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 6 FUN IN THE SUN

This free event at Rosslare Community Centre for children aged seven to 14 includes tag rugby, rock climbing, tennis, cricket, football and more. It must be booked online at www.sportsacti­ve.ie. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

INFERNO FIRE SHOW

Ballythoma­s will be ablaze on Saturday night, August 6, when the Gap Arts Festival presents the Inferno Fire Show at the school field, Ballythoma­s, at 10 p.m. Entry is free.

OPEN GARDEN

Come along to the open gardens at George and June Hill’s residence, Ballydanie­l, Camolin, to raise funds for repair to floor at St Catherines Church, Camolin, on Saturday, August 6, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a cake sale, bric-a-brac and raffle.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 7 TEDDY BEARS’ PICNIC

Bring your favourite teddy along with a picnic and an afternoon full of fun in Rosslare. There will be prizes for best-dressed teddy and oldest teddy, along with face-painting, a bouncy castle, music and photos. Cost is €8 per child and includes a picnic. 1 p.m.

The annual Whitechurc­h Vintage Rally takes place at Seamus Kane’s land on Sunday, August 7.

CHARITY HORSE TREK

Charity Horse Trek at Railway Yard Gallops, Duncormick, This char- ity trek in aid of MJ and Ryan Brophy Cox from Duncormick will trot off at 10 a.m. MJ and Ryan suffer from a genetic heart condition HOCM. The trek will go along Cullenstow­n Beach and return to stables for raffle and refreshmen­ts. It will kick off at 10 a.m. and entry fee is €15. People are also welcome to drive and cycle.

TUG OF WAR CHAMPIONSH­IPS

Boley Tug of War Club is hosting the National 640kg and 560kg Tug of War Championsh­ips on Sunday, August 7, at the Horse and Hound Ballinaboo­la, at 1 p.m.

HORSESHOE TOURNAMENT

The Ally Howlin Horseshoe tournament will take place on Sunday, August 7, in Curracloe village at 2 p.m. Proceeds will be in aid of Curracloe Horseshoe Club and Curracloe Tidy Village. There will be loads of prizes to be won. All are welcome and your support would be appreciate­d.

GARDEN PARTY

The Skrine family have kindly offered to host an afternoon tea and garden party on Sunday, August 7, at Butlerstow­n Castle in aid of Tomhaggard social centre. The Skrine family are great supporters of the social centre, attending many social and cultural events, while Helen read stories from her book at a story and poetry evening.

KILTEALY PATRON

The annual Kiltealy patron will take place this year on Sunday, August 7, beginning with prayers in the old cemetery at 1 p.m. Patron Mass will be at 1.30 p.m. in the new cemetery followed by the field day, which this year as always will have many attraction­s. Parish raffle tickets will be available soon. Bottles for bottle stall can be left in local shops. New volunteers to help on the day most welcome.

MONDAY, AUGUST 8

The House of Stories in Lower Oulart will hold its August session on Monday, August 8. Instrument­al music, singing, tall-tales and recitation­s will all be on offer as well as the usual traditiona­l refreshmen­ts in the restored 1798 cottage. All are welcome to attend and there is no admission charge.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 12, TO MONDAY, AUGUST 15 KILMORE VILLAGE SPUD FEST

Kilmore village will be buzzing from August 12 until August 15 as the Kilmore Village Spud Fest rolls into town for another year. Organised in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare, Kilmore Quay RNLI and the village’s Christmas lighting fund, the event has something to suit all ages. Events include a festival parage, kids disco, car boot sale and a festival field day. Saturday night will be one for the music lovers as the ‘Party in the Pairc’ kicks off in the festival marquee. The lineup includes local bands including The Rob Strong Band, Soul Trek and the Funk Generation and The Gentlemen Callers.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 13 BARN DANCE AND BARBECUE

The annual summer barn dance and barbecue in aid of Friend’s of It’s Good To Talk at Murphy’s Barn on the Newline Road will return again this year and as always, it is expected to be a big event. The event will kick off at 7.30 p.m., with live music from band One Vision. Tickets cost €10 and the cost includes food from the barbecue. They are available from the It’s Good To Talk Office, Wexford Arts Centre and Westgate Design.

RATHANGAN FUN DAY

On Saturday, August 13, there will be a Farmers Market and Family Fun Day at Rathangan Hall starting at midday.

There will be all the usual fun activities for kids to do on the day, including bouncy castles, archery, electric zoo, fun and games, face-painting, hair-braiding and much more for the family to enjoy.

AFTERNOON TEA

Harold and Rose Clare are hosting an afternoon tea event on Saturday, August 13, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in aid of the National Rehabilita­tion Hospital, Dun Laoghaire, at their home in Davidstown. There will be a floral demonstrat­ion and raffle on the day.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 21 FAMILY FUN DAY

A family fun day will be held in Ballyroebu­ck Pitch on Sunday, August 21. There will be lots of fun and games, including an under age blitz and a hurling final to name but a few. Also taking place will be the official opening of the extension and unveiling of the memorial plaque.

TAGOAT STEAM RALLY

The Tagoat Steam Rally will roll into town for the 31st year running and this year is set to be the biggest yet. The annual rally, which is one of the largest in the south east, has more than 250 exhibitors displaying their much loved vintage vehicles such as vintage tractors, cars, motorbikes and stationary engines. Of course a steam rally would not be complete without the star of the show, the steam traction engines, and this year there will be three. There will also be a full funfair, bouncy castles, horseshoes, trade stands and auto-jumble along with the legendary dog show. Traditiona­l crafts will be on display, while there will be plenty of musical entertianm­ent in the evening. From midday.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 26 CAMOGIE CLUB RACE NIGHT

Gusserane Camogie Club is holding a race night on Friday, August 26, at Rosies Bar, Dunmain, starting at 8.45 p.m. It will be hosted by Liam Spratt from South East Radio. There will be 10 races with eight runners in each race. The cost of a horse is €10 and the cost of sponsoring a race is €100.
