Leah leads the field in heat

-

THE SECOND round heats of the Oceanfeed Greyhound+ A4 Stakes featured on Thursday night’s card at Enniscorthy Dog Track (races four to seven).

This stake is building up to be a very competitive one as there is little to separate the runners, and it is very hard to call who will come out with the winner’s cheque.

Leahs Phantom took heat one when overcoming crowding at the first bend to show a nice turn of pace down the back, getting up to get the better of leader Duffry Gate Pat in a time of 29.34.

Heat two saw Call Him Timmy set the pace down the back, however Town Belle came home strongly to score, following up his first round win in a time of 29.36.

Shanescastle Dubh got off the mark in heat three and he made no mistake as he cut the first bend tight from his trap one draw and held off Bubba Jet snugly enough in a time of 29.44.

Heat four went to Hillburn Biddy who was scoring her fourth win from ten starts and was completing her hat-trick when leading all the way to beat the strong-finishing Cosy Scolari in 29.31.

Being only a November ’14 whelp, there could be more improvement to come.

The semi-finals will feature this Thursday which will be a major night as it is the Co. Wexford G.A.A. gala night and a huge crowd is expected.

In race nine Vaz Te continued his great run of form, scoring his 23rd race win when again showing his excellent early pace to lead his field a merry dance and record a time of 29.16.

The biggest buzz of the night came in race one as White Space, owned by the Eazy Packers syndicate (Cow and Gate) cheered their charge on from trap rise. As he went further and further clear the noise got louder also and the syndicate clearly enjoyed their nice win.
